Joan Facca was born and raised inRedwood City, California Lake County has been part of her life since childhood, and she and her husband, Bob, have lived at the Lake since 1985.
A lifelong love of Art, and a desire for creative self-expression led her to painting...first with oils and now, pastels. The natural beauty found in Northern California, especially Lake County, provides constant inspiration.
While being mostly self-taught, Joan has attended workshops with Stephanie del Bosco, who introduced her to pastels, and pastel artist, Judy V. Magoon, whose encouragement and inspiration convinced her to stay with the medium, and also Armand Cabrera, who helped her to establish a solid platform for her oil painting. Her long association with the Konocti Plein Air Painters is an ongoing, rewarding challenge.
Joan has received many awards in local competitions, and she has exhibited her work at the Main Street Gallery in Lakeport, as well as other venues in the Tri-County area. She is a member of the Lake Co. Arts Council, Konocti Plein Air Painters, and the Pastel Society of the West Coast.
